Renovating an 1870s Victorian home with several small rooms and tight hallways proved to be a big challenge for Lisa Patterson and her husband. They wanted a secluded master bedroom suite near the children, but separate enough to give them some privacy. With the help of their architect, they reconfigured the back end of their home to create a charming New England bed and bath.
Floral draperies hung on a wall over the center of the bed give an illusion of additional windows in this master bedroom. Ornamental light fixtures, purchased at an auction for $10, add a touch of romanticism to the master bath.
