Product Ideas

Angelo chooses tones of blue for the walls that mimic seascapes and summer skies. He opens up the room even more by painting the ceiling and the walls the same color. Since the room has a small platform in the center of the floor, Surmelis opts to play it up as a seating area. To further define the area, carpenter Chris Ashe built planter boxes for the four corners. Inexpensive white curtains get a casual sun washed, aged look with a clever batik treatment — dyeing them a deep ocean blue and incorporating seaside designs — by design assistant Wanda Colón.
