Materials:

picture frames
paint (Bradstreet Beige HC-48) (Benjamin Moore)
paintbrush
spray adhesive or glue
sand

Steps:

1. Prime, and then paint the picture frames a sandy color, allowing them to dry between coats.
2. Spray frames with adhesive or brush watered-down glue over them, and then sprinkle with sand until completely covered (figure A).
3. Allow to dry before matting photos.
