Designer Keri Beyer and host Joan Steffend design a contemporary room that is all grown up for two single moms.
$83 Window Treatments
Cornices with an antique finish were added to handmade window panels to give the room a modern finesse.

The room was brightened by adding a blue gray tone to the walls.

The homeowners’ ottoman was re-covered with a fun animal print, which added an unexpected twist to the room.

A suitcase stand and a suitcase make a creative and inexpensive coffee table.
$10 Seating Area
The homeowners' existing furniture was rearranged to create a cozy seating area. A chair cushion was re-covered with a soft blue fabric to match the walls.

To hide the TV, an existing unit was covered with a textured rug and embellished with wooden knobs.

A kids table and chairs was created using a wooden top, an animal print tablecloth and durable plastic to guard against spills.

A display shelf was mounted on the wall to create an artistic approach to displaying accessories.

A blue throw tied in perfectly with the cool tone on the walls. A decorative wall vase was used to add a splash of color to the room. Several inexpensive accessories were painted with few coats of bronzing paint for a quick, elegant look.
