Pillow Slipcovers

Give new life to an old pillow by sewing a simple slipcover for it.

Watch the Video: Pillow slipcovers add new life to tired pillows or a basic pillow form.
Materials:

fabric
pins
iron
measuring tape
pillow form
sewing machine
thread

Steps:

1. Measure the height of the pillow and add one inch for seam allowances. Measure the width of the pillow; double it and, then add four or five more inches for overlap and hems.
2. Iron double 1/2-inch hems into each end. Pin and sew them in place.
3. Put the fabric right side up and fold each side in toward the center so they overlap. Measure the width and adjust as necessary to match the pillow width. Pin along the top and bottom, and then sew those in place using a 1/2-inch seam allowance.
4. Turn the pillow slipcover right side out and tuck the pillow form into position through the opening in the back.
