Project by Karen Thomas.
Materials:
2 sheets 6" origami paper
thin ribbon
card stock cut 1-1/4" x 2-3/4"
stamp (optional)
white glue
small folded cranes made with 2" paper
Steps:
1. Cut 1/8 inch off two sides of one sheet of the origami paper. It should now be 5-3/4 inches square. If you are going to make a larger box, just cut off 1/8 inch on both sides to make the box bottom a little smaller than the top. This will allow the box top to slide freely over the bottom.
2. Fold the bottom according to the diagram provided.
3. Cut a piece of decorative paper a little smaller than the box bottom.
4. Glue a little strip of ribbon to the bottom to create a tab and cover with the decorative paper.
5. Fold the box top according to the diagram. Decorate the card stock if desired and slip into the top open section of the box top. The card stock inside the top helps to reinforce the box. Adjust if necessary.
6. Place the cranes and a little note to complete the box.
