Materials:
220-grit sandpaper
foam sanding pads
palm sander
particle mask
tack cloth or rags
paintbrushes
water-based polyurethane
paint (Searching Blue SW6536) – Sherwin-Williams
wooden blocks
Steps:
1. Sand the entire piece. Use foam pads on the legs to make sanding the curves easier and a palm sander on the top (be sure to wear a mask for protection). Remove the dust with a tack cloth or damp rag.
2. Elevate the table legs by placing each on a wooden block. Paint the legs and apron first, working from the apron down to the legs. Let dry and apply a second coat if desired/necessary. Let dry.
3. Apply several coats of polyurethane to the top in the direction of the grain, allowing it to dry between layers.
