Paint or use matching wallpaper to blend vent covers into your chosen wall treatment.
To Paint:
Clean the surface if necessary, and then sand with 220-grit paper or fine steel wool so the paint will adhere to the surface. Remove the dust with a damp rag and use a small bristle brush to apply latex satin paint inside the vents followed by the outer edges. Once dry, apply a second coat if necessary. Let dry and hang.

To Wallpaper:
Cut a piece of paper that's about two inches bigger than the vent all the way around. Cover the front of the vent with spray adhesive and place is face down on the back of the wallpaper. Smooth it into position, and then cut the vent openings with a utility knife from the back. Turn the vent over and fold the excess so it covers the vent completely. Repeat until finished. Trim the edges and fold the excess to the back of the vent.
