How to Paint a Cornice Board

Steps:

1. Measure the width of the window, plus any mounting brackets that you'll use.

2. Measure how far away from the wall you want the cornice board as well (figure A).

3. Paint wood with two coats of a desired background color.

4. Use any items around the house to trace items onto the board (figure B).

5. Use various colors of paint and brushes to create the desired design.

6. Allow to dry completely, then mount.

Tips

• Use the tip of the paintbrush to create dots.

• Use a makeup brush to apply paint and achieve a straight edge.
