Watch the Video: The next time you're looking to add texture to a wall, this linen weaver technique creates a very fine vertical stripe that can be casual, dressy or fun depending on the colors you choose.
Materials:

latex satin paint (base coat: Brown Tepee 700d-4) (Behr)
glaze (Tea Stain AG02) (Ralph Lauren)
roller frame and 3/8" cover
painter's tape
paintbrushes
paper towels
linen weaver brush (with portions of the bristles snipped out)

Steps:

1. Apply the base coat and let dry. Note: A latex satin base coat is the best finish for glazing over because it allows any tool you intend to use to glide right over the surface. Get help so they can roll on the glaze and you can brush through it, or vice versa. That way you can be sure to keep a wet edge, which is difficult alone.

2. Roll the glaze coat over an area about four feet wide, and then draw the brush through it horizontally. Every once in a while, wipe off the brush (figure A) so you are sure to be removing glaze from the wall instead of just moving it around. Step back and check your work every now and then to be sure you're satisfied with the results.
3. Roll on more glaze and repeat the technique until the room is complete.
