The Solution
The team will revamp the room by giving the large expanse of wall space the appearance of extra windows by adding distressed plantation shutters. They will transform the back of the adjoining fireplace so it looks more like a piece of furniture and less like a mistake. New slipcovers for the country-style sofas, plus warm earthtones for the walls and various accessories will further cozy up the room.

Host and interior designer Lee Snijders visits a salvage store, where he finds two console tables and two chairs to help fill the space in the room. He converts a teak chest into a TV cabinet by cutting out a panel in the front and installing a shelf inside. He then adds trim to the new edges to give the piece a finished look.
