AfterThe Grigorians are expecting their first baby and have asked the Design on a Dime team for a warm and cozy nursery.
The Dilemma
Designer Kristan Cunningham discusses the possibilities with the Grigorians and decides that the walls need to be painted a warm, gender-neutral color, the gym equipment needs to be replaced with a sofa bed for overnight guests, the lighting needs to be addressed and the windows need privacy shades. Also, the hardwood floors need to be softened with some kind of rug and the closet doors need to be replaced with a more user-friendly fabric partition.
The Solution
The design team is able to accomplish their goal of creating a bright, inviting nursery — here's how they do it:
- The walls are painted a bright melon color for instant warmth. Cunningham paints a bug design on the wall to tie in with the bedding already purchased by the homeowners.
