The stained-glass portholes above the eating space are the centerpiece and inspiration for the kitchen’s theme.
  • The cabinetry was an important element in establishing the nautical theme. Cherry wood stained light brown was chosen for the cabinetry. The doors have a beaded center panel with an arch and rope molding.
  • Galley rail used in parts of the kitchen enhances the nautical feel.
  • A large stainless hood over the cooktop on the island was removed to open up the space. It was replaced with a down vent.
  • Countertops are sleek white solid surface and all the appliances are stainless.
  • The undermount sink is one single deep bowl, instead of two more shallow bowls.
  • On the walls are nautical items like a barometer, a wind indicator and a nautical clock.
  • The wooden floors are stained to closely match the cabinetry and are dressed with long, colorful runners.
