To counteract the gray skies in the winter, the homeowners have decorated their home with fresh colors and abundance of neutrals on everything from the walls to the furnishings. In the living room, wood, sisal and bamboo are combined for a relaxing, comfortable design. The floor is covered in sisal carpeting and the wood walls and ceiling are painted for a light, clean look. Bamboo and rattan furnishings bring in additional neutral colors and texture.
Although it looks new, the kitchen was actually remodeled over 12 years ago. Pine cabinets lend a natural look to the space. Peck toned down the yellow undertones with a grayish-tinged stain and matte overcoat. The red walls brighten up the room and continue down into the adjoining dining room, which houses an 18th-century farm table and 16 white wicker chairs.
