Nantucket-Style Family Room

The homeowner's entertainment cabinet is placed on its side to be used as the base for the new entertainment center. The top doors are removed and baskets are placed inside the openings for an attractive storage solution. Kitchen cabinets are used for the top portion. The entire piece is finished with crown molding on the top, molding on the bottom and a coat of blue paint.

A large desk is created out of an old door, a desk piece and a bookshelf. Everything is painted light green and the top is enhanced with antique postcards attached with decoupage glue.

Before

Before the makeover this room felt weighed down with dark furnishings. The large brick wall was an overwhelming sight in the poorly lit room. The dark green colors also added to the dark and outdated style.

Now the room is light and bright with Nantucket-style decor and furnishings. This family room is now a cozy environment perfect for rest and relaxation.
