$72 - Faux Venetian Plaster Wall Art
$14 - Accent Lighting
Wahl cuts three pieces of Masonite, applies a primer to each, then starts layering different colors of paint on with a trowel to achieve a textured effect. She blends the seams with a smaller trowel. The homeowners' fountain is attached to the middle panel. Accent lights are attached above each for a more dramatic look. (paint for faux Venetian wall project:
Behr - Parmesan 340E-1, Clair de Lune 300E-3, Glazed Pecan 280D-5, Brown Eyes S-G-740; lights: IKEA - picture lights, Fryan 17796

$46 - Artwork
Another piece of Masonite is given the same paint treatment as above and embellished with a black board with script that says, "The Sound of Music." The art is attached directly to the wall but copper strapping is hung from the window rod down to the art to make it look like it's suspended from above. A metal wall hanging over the piano is enhanced with a backboard of Masonite. (metal art: Burlington Coat Factory - B.Smith with Style Home Collection, 44868)
