Don and Enid Coelho's basement is stuck in a '70s nightmare surrounded by wood paneling and shag carpeting. Their kids, Tiffany and Ryan, have decided it's time to spice up the space with some Moroccan flair.
The old, clunky couches are replaced with made-to-measure sofa futons, creating a comfortable new seating/sleeping area adjacent to the new entertainment center. The Coelhos' ornate heritage pieces also find prominence in the new room. By replacing the cushions with glass, the treasured bench is transformed into a stunning coffee table and the family's intricately carved screen now acts as a divider to separate dad's office space from the entertainment area.
