Modern Living and Dining Room

Rob and Kristin Chalmers' living and dining room are in disarray. The living room contains mismatched furnishings and the dining space is completely empty.

The Dilemma

Host Lee Snijders talks with the couple about their desires for the room. With mismatched furniture, they decide to go with a more modern feel and lose the rustic pieces. As a professional photographer, Kristen has an amazing collection of vintage cameras, not to mention the many beautiful photographs she has scattered around the living room that haven't been given their due attention. Rob is a chef and has an impressive collection of cookbooks that also deserve a proper showing. With all of the great food being served in their home, they need an equally great dining room table where their guests can enjoy it comfortably. Snijders decides the two spaces will need to be distinguished through the use of color since the two spaces right now are painted out in the same color of green.
