Now this room really reflects the Moriconis' newly discovered style of modern yet earthy and organic. Perhaps the most striking change is the sliding doors that conceal the white built-ins behind the couch. The cherry veneers add much-needed warmth, and the dual pattern on the wood creates the illusion of a larger space. The lower third has the grain running horizontally to draw the eye up to the fantastic view, while the top two-thirds run vertically to make the room seem taller than it is. And the floor-to ceiling window treatments make the windows look bigger and highlight that view.

"It means so much to have a space that I know we're really really going to use and enjoy. We're going to build family memories in this room," Marcy said. "I think all we needed was some tools that Karen taught us to execute the ideas that we have," Franco added.
