Modern country is a great take on a traditional favorite with a chic twist on country design. It's very comfortable but not quite as casual as it was in the past.

Rebecca Siswick shows how to update country style by adding new upholstery and funky pillows. It's hard to tell where country ends and modern begins in the mix of these two styles:

Adding collections is one of the ways to jazz up country furniture. Barnyard animals are very traditional, but the new shape is exaggerated and they definitely have a modern quality to them.

There is a need for the ability to mix and match old and new pieces because people don't want to let go of their vintage pieces.

So much of today's design is based on an eclectic mix so don't be afraid to mix styles and have fun creating your own unique look. Pairing a hand carved/hand painted table with a very modern chair works to enhance both of them.
