When Mike and Alison Von Achen got married three years ago, Alison moved into Mike's condominium, which he already shared with two German shepherds. With the combination of their furnishings, the living and dining space has become a hodgepodge of blended styles and a far cry from the cohesive feel they'd like to achieve.

Flowing sheers over the sliding doors provide a touch of privacy and elegance, and along with the recessed lighting, add sophistication and more light to the room.
