Hide CaptionShow CaptionThis spacious living room has boring beige walls and outdated furniture.
Joe and Kathleen Helmer live in the redwoods of California, but they want their living room to reflect a Sonoma/wine country home. The high ceilings with skylights and the light hardwood floors are a nice starting point in this spacious living room, but the dull beige walls and black and white graphic print sofa from the 1990s have to go.

After Kathleen shows host/designer David Bromstad some favorite orange, ochre and brown necklaces for color ideas, Bromstad embarks on a Napa Valley field trip for wine country inspiration, where he meets famous restaurateur and restaurant designer Pat Kuletto to give him a little inspiration. The result is a stunning, sun-drenched, natural-textured and aged living room, perfect for cozying up on the couch with a book and a relaxing glass of merlot.
