Lined Topper

1. Cut both the lining and the fabric the same size (if the fabric and lining aren't wide enough, cut one width of each in half and sew the pieces to either side of another single width of each). Lay the pieces flat with wrong sides together. Fold ½ inch over twice along the sides; pin the seams in place, and then stitch them into position. Repeat along the bottom edge with a wider hem.

2. For the top of the topper, fold the edge over ½ inch, and then fold it again to accommodate the rod pocket (2-1/2 inches in the featured project) plus 1-1/2 inches for the ruffle. Pin and stitch it in place along the bottom and 1-1/2 inches in from the top for the ruffle (use the guide on the sewing machine).
