Modified napkin rings become curtain rings.

Curtains can aid in noise reduction, privacy and complete the look of a room.

No-Sew Curtains

Materials:

any sheet or tablecloth
clips
napkin rings
needle-nose pliers

Steps:

  1. Obtain clips from any home center. Find ones that have a small loop attached to a clip. Use needle-nose pliers to slightly bend loop, attach to napkin ring, then bend loop back into place.

  2. Once eight to 10 napkin rings have been prepared, the rings can easily slip onto a curtain rod. Then just use the clips to attach any sheet, tablecloth, or other fabric.

Stars are only one option when filling in curtain pockets.

Pocket Curtains

Materials:

sheer, lightweight fabric (batiste)
cutting wheel
fusible tape
fabric iron

Steps:

  1. Choose the type of cloth that will make sheer curtains, then tear a strip of the material (about seven inches in width) out to form the pockets.

  2. Fold the strip like an accordion, then cut on all sides with a cutting wheel. This will create several square patches of fabric.

  3. Ruffle the edges of the patches. Apply fusible tape around three sides of each patch, then adhere to the curtain. By creating these pockets on the curtain, many decorative items, such as valentines or seashells, can be placed in the sheer pockets for interesting, provocative curtains.
