Materials and Tools:
stamps - Museum of Modern Rubber
purse pattern
card stock
gold card stock
stamp pad
colored markers
small clear beads
double-sided tape
scoring tool
glue
scissors
1/8-inch diameter hole punch
fringe
gold braid or thin ribbon
Steps:
1. Trace the purse outline onto the card stock. Make two pieces. Trim out the shapes and score the fold lines. Stamp the floral design onto these pieces, and color as desired.
2. Trace the frame shape onto the card stock. Make four pieces. Apply clear, double-sided tape onto the front (design) side of each purse half. Fold the side panels under first to prevent getting adhesive in this area.
3. Place a frame shape at the top edge of each purse half. Press into place. Cover the entire surfaces of the purse halves with clear beads.
4. Put a small amount of glue on the back of the remaining frame shapes. Glue them in place on the back side of each purse half, matching upper (curved) edges. Punch two small holes into the purse frames on each half.
5. Glue a small piece of fringe to the bottom edge of one purse half, just between the lower end of the side panels. Fold the side panels under (like a pleat), and glue the end tab of one side panel to the inside edge of the opposite purse half. Put a little glue at the bottom of the purse (where the fringe is), and glue the opposite side panel closed in the same manner.
