In the first episode of an all-new season of HGTV Showdown, a Maryland couple is at odds about what to do with their bland family room. They asked for our design help via an online submission, and their call was answered. It's a battle of the sexes as Genevieve Gorder (host of Dear Genevieve) and Carter Can's Carter Oosterhouse compete against Designed to Sell's Monica Pedersen and Over Your Head's Eric Stromer to see who can redo this room best, according to the homeowners' wishes. Each team will work in an exact replica of the original room on a Hollywood sound stage and will have just four hours to make the transformation.
