Steps:

1. Select a jar that’s big enough to surround a 7-watt bulb. It's very important to use a very low wattage bulb for this piece. Clean and rinse the jar and the lid thoroughly, and set them aside to dry.

2. Determine the diameter of the lamp base and drill a corresponding hole in the wood. Sand around the hole and stain or paint it any color you wish.

3. Once the wood is dry, attach the lamp parts and the chain on the top side, and screw on the lid of the jar onto the underside.

4. Screw in the light bulb and attach the jar.
