Its height of this poster bed is reminiscent of older bedrooms, where higher beds were the norm for warmth. When Eric Cohler first viewed the creation of renowned designer Marcel Breuer in the woods of Lakeville, Conn., it was badly in need of repair. The contemporary "glass box" house had been damaged in a fire, and Cohler knew that the home he was about to make his own needed a major expansion and restoration from the ground up.
