Adding custom touches to a room's design has never been easier. By using a home computer, scanner and printer, a room can be transformed into a designer showcase quickly and easily.Deborah Durham from Hewlett-Packard introduces creative ways to customize a young girl's bedroom with just a computer.
Materials:
scanner
color printer
iron-on T-shirt transfers
pillowcases, duvet, bedside table and other items of choice to decorate
paint in color(s) of choice (optional)
digital camera (if you don't have a scanner)
clip art
picture frame
Steps:
- Scan the design and print it out on iron-on transfer paper.
- Place face down on the fabric, and iron it on for about 40 seconds, following the iron-on paper's instructions (figure A). Peel off the back while it's still hot.
- To personalize wooden items such as a shelf, paint the wood in the color of your choice.
