Do some varieties of iris bloom more than once a year?
Yes. A number of iris varieties fall into the reblooming category. 'Grape Adventure' is the variety featured here. It boasts a lovely blossom and a great fragrance, as do many reblooming varieties. Care for these kinds of iris is the same as for other varieties: if the iris will be used as a cut flower, groom the stalk when the bloom begins to fade (usually about three days after it's cut ). Then the flower will last about a week. Ask a nursery professional or local extension agent which reblooming varieties will thrive in your area.
