A fabric-and-fringe-covered lampshade accentuates the room's eclectic country design.
She painted the original open shelving a creamy white, which became the perfect backdrop for her collection of green dishes and picnic tins. Timeworn country antiques serve a variety of purposes in the small space. A small dresser acts as a buffet and in the middle of the kitchen, a drop-leaf table is used for an island. She installed copper countertops to complement the green and cream color palette and plans to let it patina naturally. Accents include large glass jars with painted lids and plates displayed on the wall. The hanging lamp over the breakfast table is nothing more than an electrical cord, light bulb and lampshade. She covered the shade with fabric and fringe and created a fabric slipcover to hide the cord.
