Hide CaptionShow CaptionHirsch and Remi transform the plain pine dresser with some brown paper bags and wood stain for an inexpensive leather look. All About
First, Hirsch applies a coat of clear primer, which prepares the top for the decoupage treatment and the sides and front for the dark wood stain. On the top, working in small sections, they apply a coat of decoupage glue, then torn pieces of a brown paper bag and then another coat of glue on top. Once the glue dries, they apply stain to the paper top and the rest of the dresser. Remi uses the same decoupage technique and brown paper to cover a lampshade.
