$34 - Walls
They mix together two glaze colors, apply it to the wall in small sections, then use a wood graining tool to create the paneled effect.

  • glaze: Menard's - McCloskey, Mocha #5427808 and Maize #5427837

$102 - Sofa
The existing sofa is given a completely new look by altering the arms with duct tape to fit a ready-made slipcover.

  • slipcover: Target - #067040120

$3 - Armchair
A discarded armchair is given a new look with plaid fabric.

$32 - Area Rug
Four matching 2x3 rugs are duct-taped on the back to create one large area rug.

  • rugs: Costco - #473506

$72 - Ottomans
Small denim ottomans complete the seating area.

  • cube ottomans: TJ Maxx - #079414

Free!
The homeowners' existing credenza is topped with a discarded bookcase and both pieces are freshened with a coat of green paint to create a substantial storage piece.

$12 - Doors
A recessed bookshelf area in the wall is turned into a TV storage unit. Matching doors are hinged in front to hide it when not in use; the second set is attached to the wall below to give the illusion that it's a built-in unit.
