Sylvia and Bud Richardson gathered rocks, barn wood and bricks to build their perfect country-inspired family room — but that was 30 years ago. Now those natural elements are collecting dust in a space that the family no longer appreciates.

The Richardsons' daughters are ready to brighten the dated and forgotten basement. They would like to find a use for the area at the foot of the stairs, which houses patio furniture, unused tables and chairs plus boxes of old wine bottles.
