Materials:

paper tiles (they come in a variety of sizes and colors)
utility knife
hot-glue gun
paint
stencils
masking tape
stencil brush
glue sticks
paintbrushes

Steps:

  1. Choose the size and color of paper tiles that fit your design. We used the large tiles in a worn brick color.

  2. Working from the middle of your area, place the tiles side by side. If you need to cut a piece to size, do this with a utility knife on a nonskid surface. Make several passes to score the tile, then snap off the excess.

  3. Use a glue gun to adhere the tiles to the wall.

  4. Adhere the stencil to the tile with masking tape or painters tape.

Figure A

  • Paint in the stencil with your choice of color and a stencil brush (figure A).

  • Figure B

  • If you want to overlay another stencil onto the stencil you just painted (figure B), let it dry first.
