Family Room Revamp

The awkward support pole and the opposite wall have been built out to clearly define the living space from the dining space. The pole is no longer an eyesore, now it looks like architectural detail that has always been there.

The new butternut color palette and soft window treatments add instant warmth and coziness to the space. The ceiling is also painted the same color to further warm the space and make it seem bigger. Two new light fixtures at less than $100 each and a pair of table lamps illuminate both areas. The electrical panel in the dining area was not centered over the table, so it is simply swaged to the right position. The rectangular table fits better in the space and provides more seating. To make a dining room appear larger, the shape of the dining table should mimic the shape of the room.
