This wall really pops now. Designer Angelo Surmelis wanted to add some texture to this room, and one of the ways to do that is with paint. Two gold colors on this wall are complemented by the existing red and brown accents throughout the rest of the space. The white molding and gray squares that carpenter Chris Ashe built breaks up the very tall wall and creates wonderful architectural detail. Design assistant Shaina Fewell had some of the family's photos blown up and treated with a sepia tone (dark grayish yellow brown) to attract more visual interest. The patina effect on the metal frames completes the look of the photo display. The large plant gets placed in the corner by the door to further the theme of bringing more texture to the space.
