Ethnic Contemporary Dining Room

Karen helps the Appelbaums discover their designer within by training them to use the basic rules of design that the pros use in their own homes. She suggests that homeowners look in their house for a room that they have already designed that they really like to get a good indication of their design style. The living room is that place for the Appelbaums, so Karen wants to bring that style into the dining room. Karin likes more ethnic pieces, while Mark is into contemporary, so Karen mixes contemporary design with ethnic elements to help them create the dining room of their dreams. Using the green and yellow colors found throughout the room, she creates a tablescape mimicking the room's elements to create a seamless finish.
