Homeowners Cristina and James Dyer just moved into a new house. They've decorated most of it, but they are stumped when it comes to their living room. They're ready to change to a more dramatic, sophisticated look based on a design they found. It is an aqua-inspired room that combines nature with the colors of the sea. The only problem is that the $35,000 price doesn't float their boat.
The room is a perfect blend of mid-century modern furnishings with natural elements — beach-glass chandelier, shell boxes and coral motifs in the artwork and pillows.
The Double Take team — makeover designer Michele Addey, budget shopper Halili Knox, and carpenter Jamie Schmitt — pool their artistic expertise to re-create this seaside-inspired space for less than $3,000.
