Hide CaptionShow CaptionChairs found at an antique mall are very similar to the neoclassical side chairs in the inspiration room.
The two neoclassical side chairs in the designer room are $9,600 reproductions that are upholstered in Italian silk with a silver-leaf finish. Two secondhand chairs with a very similar upholstery and profile were found at an antique mall for $600. A touch of silver wax is added to the detail on the arms to achieve the same silver-leaf look as the original. A small thrift-store table is given a new crackle finish and placed next to one of the side chairs.
