Fashion a base out of ready-made shelf brackets attached upside-down to a piece of stock lumber. Next, attach iron coat hooks and top with a fence-post finial for a finishing touch.

Coffee Table Turned Ottoman
Turn a large coffee table into a cushioned ottoman. Trim off the legs, if needed, and cut a piece of plywood to fit the tabletop. Add a piece of foam (trim the sharp corners and top edges with an electric bread knife). Staple batting and fabric to the underside of the plywood and place on the tabletop.

Entertainment Center
Transform discarded furniture into a useful piece to suit your needs. This entertainment center was previously a dresser missing its drawers. Simply add shelving where needed and paint.
