Ellen and David want their family room to be the go-to spot in their house and they've asked designer Kenneth Brown to come up with a casual, beach-themed room with plenty of storage for David's enormous record collection.

Kenneth's Tips:

  • Go with the architectural flow. A long and narrow window is mimicked with a long and narrow built-in bench below it.
  • Tie artwork together with similar frames. Ellen and David's young daughter loves to draw so Kenneth incorporates her masterpieces into the design by simply using the same kind of frame for each.
