McAloon decided to paint a circle on the ceiling with the same tan as the walls, but with a metallic tint for a more modern feel. The circle gives the effect of a recessed alcove above the dining table and mimics the shape of its central glass circle. The bigger the circle, the larger the room feels; the circle reaches just short of the edging on the ceiling. The edge is painted the same green as the walls. McAloon also found a table lamp that she mounted to the ceiling; it repeats the circular theme and is uncommonly eye-catching.
