Earthy Modern Dining Room

Homeowners Kim Fellows-Peake and Matt Peake love their craftsman home. They are ready, though, for a dining room that blends their contemporary style with the room's classic elements. McAloon bases the design of the room around the modern glass and two-toned wood dining table. The result: a warm, updated style that features matching chairs, a favorite photos display and even a table lamp turned chandelier.

Problem: part modern, part craftsman do not blend into one style. Bold wall colors are too saturated for the architectural era of house. Lots of randomly placed and sized photos create visual chaos.
