Steps:


  1. The first step is to clean the fence by sweeping it vigorously with a broom.

  2. Hose it down thoroughly.

  • Try hanging a collection of watering cans on the fence with galvanized wire (figure A).

  • Attach pots of flowers below the spouts of the can, using metal clips (figure B) designed for this purpose. They are available at most garden stores.

  • Hang a decorative door panel, much like a picture, using galvanized wire.

  • Add a window that has mirrors for panes and shutters.

  • Install metal brackets under the window using a drill to attach directly to the fence. Set a planter on the brackets like a window box. Fill with drought-resistant plants like geraniums.

  • Place segments of a picket fence (available in pre-finished segments) against the fence and lean decorative tools against it.
