Donald Simonson and his wife searched for the perfect house for years but ended up falling in love with an empty piece of property on a street of established houses, where they decided to build their own dream house. The resulting Georgian colonial is custom fit to their tastes, and the master bedroom suite, like the rest of the house, is the perfect combination of old and new.
To re-create the elegant feel of a four-star hotel, the bed sits under a sculpted ceiling. French doors define each area of the Georgian Colonial bedroom suite without compromising its spaciousness. A contrasting band of walnut is inset into the oak floor, and columns that echo the Federalist-style architecture flank a gas fireplace.
