Sew simple panel treatments if it's not possible to create a more elaborate statement, which still add style while providing privacy and light control when needed. Drapery Panels
Materials and Tools:
fabric
wooden drapery rod
drapery pins
wooden rings
Steps:
1. Sew two widths of the fabric together, and then add side and top seams and a hem. If desired, add a thin band of a contrasting trim fabric or heavy fringe to the inside edge and bottom of each panel for more interest.
2. Slide the rings over the rod and add single drapery pins to the top of the panel to hook in the rings.
Duvet Cover
Materials and Tools:
fabric
ribbon
flat sheet in desired size
duvet or comforter
iron
Steps:
1. Cut two fabric panels to the size of the sheet. Cut one panel in half lengthwise and sew a piece to either side of the other one. Put right sides of the fabric and sheet together and sew around the sides and bottom. Turn and press.
2. Sew coordinating ribbons to the back and front of the duvet cover at the desired intervals. Slip the duvet inside and tie the ribbons together to secure the top end.
