Everything in Rebeka Bieber's small apartment does double duty because her 800-square-foot space has to function for both working and entertaining. In the bedroom, she keeps her storage hidden in plain sight. With a little ingenuity, she doubled her kitchen counter space without taking up any room at all.

Rebeka's living room doubles as her office, but she didn't want typical office-style furniture. This bureau is actually two horizontal file cabinets painted red and draped with fabric. (Remember to prime metal furniture before painting for a long-lasting finish.) The cabinet stores not only her files, but also dishes and linens.
