Newlyweds Sal and Yasemin Hakimi brought a bit of New York to their small D.C. apartment. Their apartment in historic Logan Circle is in a former auto body shop turned into trendy loft apartments. They arranged their 830-square-foot open studio to suit their modern and traditional sides.

There's room for both casual relaxing and formal dining in the open living room, dining room and kitchen space. Sal's family is in the art business, as reflected in the room's interesting artwork. The decor is modern with bright yellow and red walls, with a few traditional Middle Eastern accents.
