  • Stitch a button on a pillow to accent a closure, or stitch a row on the end of a pillowcase.

  • Use small buttons to add interest to drawer pulls. To make them look like they're sewn on, first stitch the holes with thread or wire, then glue onto wooden pulls.

  • Encircle a frameless mirror with an array of buttons. Apply a small amount of glue to each button and space evenly around the mirror.

  • Embellish a plain lampshade with silver buttons.

  • Create colorful napkin rings by sewing a rainbow of colored buttons onto elastic.

  • Add a touch of the unexpected to flower centers. Thread buttons with wire, push down through the flower centers and wrap the wire around the flower stem.

  • Dress up an old table with a mosaic-style design. Attach buttons with an adhesive and grout like ordinary tile. Set a precut glass round on top.
